Starting with a group of 10 at Sydney Airport, soon to become 16 in Ecuador.
Two days and the wonderful Hotel ‘B’ in Lima with visits to the Pre-columbian Museum and dinner at the world’s 3rd Best Restaurant – Central for a degustation menu set us up nicely for our arrival into Guayaquil and thence to Baltra where we joined our luxury Catamaran. For the next 7 days we were blown away by the wildlife of these spectacular of not quite pristine Islands. The Photographic opportunities were sensational and with only 16 people allowed anywhere at any one time we felt blessed to be alone with nature.
Following on, half the group visited Salta lodge in the Amazon, while a few of us stretched out legs and lungs walking in several areas in the Ecuadorian highlands before we all met again in the shadow of Mt Cotapaxi at a wonderful Hacienda built into Incan ruins for our farewell dinner!
