Overview

The American South is rich in mesmerizing scenery, history and graceful, often enthralling, architecture. The Great Smoky Mountains, which run between Tennessee’s and North Carolina’s state borders, are breathtaking, and the beaches between Charleston and Savannah are beautiful. Both cities have stunning examples of antebellum architecture, as well as plenty of history to go along with it. Atlanta and Charlotte provide the glitz and glam of bigger cities, but Asheville may be the trip’s biggest surprise.
