The wearing of silly hats… China

September 20, 2014 by Paul Davies Leave a Comment

I have had the great fortune to experience the wonders of China and Korea. Our first stop was Korea and the food was incredible, second only to the warm reception from the local people. In a city were old guard tradition meets modern western city life, we spent hours wondering around temples, shopping districts and the DMZ.

After a few days of Korean hospitality we were flown off to Beijing China. My mouth still waters at the thought of Duck pancakes.
We took in the sights of Tiananmen Square under the watchful eye of Chairman Mao, The Summer Palace, Great Wall and the local night markets where the more intrepid of us tried scorpions on a stick ( not a Cadbury treat ) and a very large spider.

During our tour, one day was particularly cold and we happened across a cart selling Angry Birds hats and all 10 of our trip brought one each. The next 4 hours was spent having our photos taken with many of the local Chinese and even one of the local souvenir shops took our photo and made key rings with the picture.
This was a fantastic trip and one that I will cherish for ever.
