In September 2018, I went on a Thailand Familiarisation trip, hosted by Amazing Thailand.
We flew Thai Airways economy class. I was extremely comfortable and well looked after. This is the third time I have flown Thai Airways and their service as always was fantastic.
Bangkok Novotel Suvarnabhumi Hotel for one night.
Very comfortable, very close to the airport but still accessible to shopping.
The hotel offered an amazing buffet breakfast open from 3am.
The Legend Chiang Rai for three nights.
I was lucky enough to stay in their 2-bedroom Villa with private plunge pool.
It’s an absolutely beautiful property with luscious gardens situated right on the Mae Kok River.
The hotel owner David was extremely friendly and accommodating and couldn’t do more to make us feel at home.
I highly recommend dining at the Wine Casa restauraunt onsite. Best Italian food I’ve had in a long time.
Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen Park for one night.
Stunning hotel, great for corporate and leisure guests.
Amazing facilities, gym, pool, wish we had more time here to enjoy the facilities more.
Great buffet breakfast with more options that you can imagine.
Chiang Rai: Sightseeing included the White Temple, Blue Temple and Baan Dam Museum (Black House Museum) – the absolute highlight of my trip (I have attached some of my photos, words can’t express the absolute awe I was in at these places).
We visited Jinnaluck- Miracle of the Sea where we learnt how to make Saa paper, was a beautiful cultural experience. The locals from the village made us feel very welcome.
We also visited Doi Tung Development Project and the beautiful gardens there. So calming and relaxing (have attached some pics also).
Our final day in Bangkok we visited the Museum of Floral Culture and learnt about the importance of flowers to the Thai Culture and traditions, spent the evening at the new Asiatique complex – restaurants, bars and boutique shopping experience by the river.
Can’t wait to go back when I have more time and to explore more of the amazing Golden Triangle region of Chiang Rai. So rich in history, beautiful countryside and delicious food.
