Dubai

Dubai

In May 2012, I travelled to Dubai with Emirates, it was a 14 hours comfortable flight from Sydney, catch up on a few new release movies and had a nap and we landed. I stayed at the Jumeriah Beach hotel – what a wonderful resort! They have their own private beach, water park which was complementary when staying there, 6 swimming pools, lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. Fantastic views, you can’t beat this amazing hotel!

Dubai is such an amazing city! There’s so much to do, it’s unbelievable.

Burj Khalifa – The world tallest building (in 2012) standing at 828 meters high.
The view from the observation deck on level 124 is absolutely stunning, they also have a Top Sky Lounge on the 148th floor.

Dubai Mall - Its own ice skating rink, aquarium & underwater zoo, Sega Republic and Kidzania (Where kids can learn to be adults – 80 different role plays scenarios). It doesn’t close until midnight, so plenty of time to shop!

Atlantis The Palms – Aquaventure water park – It’s always a 45 degrees day, so why not spend the whole day here, lots of thrill seeking slides – make sure you go on the leap of faith, float along the lazy rivers (my favourite), or lay around in one of the cabanas.

Ski Dubai - is an indoor ski resort where you can ski, snowboard, toboggan or just pay in the snow. They even have resident snow penguins!

A must do in Dubai is the 4x4 Desert Dinner Safari, this was the highlight of my trip.
We took the 4x4 all around the desert and ended with an Arabian night sunset dinner, buffet style with lots of food, sand art, henna designers, camel rides and top off evening entertainment with belly dancers and Arabian music. A fun filled night!!

iFly first came out in Dubai and I was one of the lucky ones to try it out, for those who wants a taste of Skydiving.

I highly recommend Dubai as a destination instead of a stopover, however if you only have time for a stopover be sure to stop of at a couple of the places I’ve mention, you won’t regret it!
