In April 2016 I was given a great opportunity to visit the Philippines. I was so excited because I had heard so much about this country as I had never visited it before. I flew from Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam to Manila and then to Cebu with Philippine Airlines on the 18 April 2016. Philippine airlines service from Vietnam was good. Their service was very good and the staff gave attention to each passenger on board and made you feel welcome. They were also on time with their flights which meant that we were able to make the connection from Manila to Cebu.

Once I landed in Cebu I knew that that week was going to be an unforgettable experience. As I came out of the airport excited and happy to have arrived safe and sound I had my transfer to the Mactan Shangri-la Resort and Spa waiting for me. This Resort was unbelievable, the welcoming party was great and the staff was so friendly and helpful.

Cebu is an amazing and unforgettable place. You want to experience Paradise? Well Cebu and the islands around Cebu is the right place. The people and the culture will leave you speechless with their welcoming smiles. The places to visit in Cebu and Philippines in general are many but they have all one thing in common and that is feeling like you are in Paradise with their white beaches and crystal clear waters.

I enjoyed very much the hot weather and I explored the ground of the resort. There were so many things to do but I only managed to try a few things out. The thing that I like the most of the resort was the Buffet Breakfast(as being italian we like our foods) and the Zumba sessions in the garden.

One night of the week we had a dinner organized by the Philippine Tourism Board. It was done on the beach side of the resort with a spectacular view. The food was great and very special as they had traditional Philippine foods. I was very happy of that evening spent time speaking to the people who were there for a Business conference. At the end of the night we all felt welcomed and joyful of being in the Philippines because of the dinner PTB had organized.

We also went to Oslob to swim with the whale sharks and that was one of the best experiences of my life. Even though I had fallen seasick I managed to swim with the whales as well as snorkel with them. I became a little child in the water seeing the big whale sharks. I had one who swam underneath me and that surprised me as I thought I was going to be eaten but instead he ignored me completely and swam away. In all my 32years I have never seen a whale from close up and especially have never swam with them. So this was an experience to keep in my heart.

Overall Philippines is a place to visit and enjoy their natural wonders. If I was to go back I would go to another island and explore more of the Philippines as this country has so much to offer.
